Russell E. Nelson, INDIANAPOLIS

Russell E. Nelson, 95, passed away November 30th, 2013, at his home in Indianapolis, IN.
He was born in 1918 in Chicago Illinois
He gave his heart to the Lord in 1965 and was faithful to his constantly voiced desire — “That my life glorify Jesus.” He was known for his consistent kindness and generosity and always served his family, neighbors and church. In recent years, he was a member of Geist Christian Church in Indianapolis and First Christian Church in Johnson City TN. During his years of living in Petoskey, Michigan, he was an active member of the United Methodist Church.
Russell was an entrepreneur who started an automotive parts reconditioning business from his basement as a teenager and built it into a company with over 100 employees in four states. He was able to retire at an early age to devote time to his family and church. He was a talented pianist who blessed countless people with his music.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma Nelson; Sons, Ken (Sue), Russ (Barbara); Daughters, Linnea Nelson Bush (Ken), Nancy Nelson Jones (Lindsay); ten grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 28th, at 11:00 a.m. at Geist Christian Church, Indianapolis IN (South Campus).
