Margaret Ellen Peters, JOHNSON CITY

Margaret Ellen Peters, 82 Johnson City, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at her home.
A native of Johnson City she was a daughter of the late Martha E. Clark Booher and Chester Booher.
Margaret retired from Kmart Corporation in 1998 and enjoyed spending time with her family and church family. She enjoyed reading, gardening and riding in the mountains, and doing community service.
She was a member of New Hope Church of Christ, Johnson City, Tennessee, and a member of the Ladies Circle at the Church.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Willard C. Peters.
Margaret Peters is survived by a son, Robert Bradley, of the home; two daughters, Debbie Bradley, of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Judy Simerly, of Bluff City; two step sons, Michael Peters, wife, Arlene, of Havelock, North Carolina, and David Peters and wife, Phyllis, Greeneville, Tennessee; one sister, Louise McKinney, of Johnson City, Tennessee; and two brothers, Ted Booher and wife, Diane, of Daytona, Florida, and Paul Booher ,of Johnson City; four grandsons, Dakota Bradley, Travis Bradley, Eric Simerly and Jackson Simerly; step granddaughter, Stephanie Peters; and great grandchildren, Blake Bradley, Joey, A.J. and Kiersten Simerly; and several nieces and nephews.
For those who wish, memorials may be made to the New Hope Church of Christ Memorial Fund- Fellowship Hall.
The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Amedisys Hospice staff; Sylvia Barham, niece and neighbors Kathy and Rod Williams, Mike and Nona Keyes and Mary Clay, Pastor Paul Peer and all the church members of New Hope Church of Christ.
The funeral service for Mrs. Peters will be conducted Friday, December 6, 2013, at 7 PM in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Peer officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5-7 PM.
The graveside committal service will be conducted Sunday, December 8, 2013, at 2 PM in Washington County Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the funeral home by 1:30 PM to proceed to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dakota Bradley, Arthur Larkins, Jim McKinney and Blake Bradley. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Bradley and Kenneth Ray.
