Myrtle Keaton, JOHNSON CITY

Myrtle Lucille Wykle Keaton, age 84, expired on November 29, 2013.
She was born to the late Wymer and Irene Wykle on May 10, 1929, in Franklin, NC.
Myrtle graduated from Elizabethton Business College in 1970, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.
Myrtle was married to the late Rev. Dr. Joseph P. Keaton for 61 years and to this union two daughters were born: Sheba Keaton, of Johnson City, TN, and Margo Keaton, of Knoxville, TN.
Myrtle was an active member of the Ministers’ Wives and Widows Association and a Conference Worker for the East Tennessee & Virginia Conference, Mid-Atlantic II Episcopal District of the A.M.E. Zion Church.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2013, at St. Paul A.M.E. Zion Church in Johnson City, TN, 201 Welbourne St., Johnson City, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Juanita Greene Officiating.
Interment, Moore’s Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church cemetery in Cleveland, NC, at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be sent in the name of the Joseph P. Keaton Scholarship Fund (Livingstone College), P.O. Box 687, Mountain Home, TN 37684.
