Emily Mays Hale, 86, Johnson City, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Christian Care Center following a brief illness.
Mrs. Hale was a native of Greeneville and had been a resident of Johnson City since 1956.
She was a daughter of the late Charley and Edith Foshee Mays.
Mrs. Hale was a retired bookkeeper.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hale was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wright Hale, in 2003; and a sister, Jerry Slagle.
She is survived by her daughter, Sally Hale, Johnson City; a sister, Alice Marshall and husband, C.C., Johnson City; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013, at 3:00 P.M. in Monte Vista Memorial Park with Dr. Theodore N. Thomas, Minister, officiating. Pallbearers will be John Marshall, Adam Slagle, George Mays, Ben Mays and David Pectol. Those planning to attend are to meet at the cemetery by 2:55 P.M. Thursday.
