Jack Kegley, ERWIN

Jack M. Kegley, age 97, 830 Mill Creek Road, Erwin, went to be with Jesus on Friday, November 29, 2013, at Appalachian Christian Village. He was born May 14, 1916 in Sullivan County, Tennessee, a son of the late Ray M. and Lillian Banner Kegley.
Other than his parents, Mr. Kegley was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Bertha Bailey Kegley, who passed away August 18, 2013. one daughter, Shirley Joyce “Joy” Kegley and one sister, Hazel Wave Payne.
Mr. Kegley is survived by four daughters: Wilma Gosswiler and husband, Rolf, Wanda Tatum and husband, John, Nola Bell and Venda Grey and husband, Tom; five grandchildren: Richard Allen and wife, Elizabeth, Rhonda Boyer and husband, Mark, Bryan Kegley and wife, Sharon, Anthony Whitson and wife, Kim, Beverly Bell-Sambat and husband, Brandon; eleven great-grandchildren: Jacob, Jarett and Joseph Dickson, Kimberly, Sabrina and Nicole Allen, Holley and Griffin Kegley, Gavin and Gabe Whitson and Bailey Bell-Sambat. Four great-great grandchildren: Julian and Jansen Dickson, Colin Allen and Sadie Isobel Dickson; one half sister, Sharon Landingham and husband, Phil, Unicoi. Several nieces and nephews also survive including a special nephew, Charles Bailey.
Funeral service for Mr. Kegley will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Bruce Shawver, Minister, will officiate. Interment will follow in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Family members will serve as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
