Etter Casey, UNICOI

Etter Honeycutt Casey, age 78, 106 Sneyd Lane, Unicoi, went home to be with the Lord at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 30, 1935 in Mitchell County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Reverend Clayton and Mary Barnett Honeycutt. Mrs. Casey was a longtime resident of Unicoi county. She was a loving and devoted wife, mom, mamaw and sister. Mrs. Casey loved to fish, quilt and was a professional seamstress. She was a member of Lighthouse of Truth Revival Center in Erwin and was a well known member of the Singing Casey Family.
Other than parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Allen Chappell; a sister, Frances Honeycutt and three brothers: Troy Honeycutt, Garfield Honeycutt and Fred Honeycutt.
Mrs. Casey is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Samuel “Sam” Casey; three sons: Bradley Casey and wife, Lora, Unicoi, Reverend Kim Casey and wife, Tonya, Erwin and Shane Casey, Unicoi; eight grandchildren: Joshua Casey, James Casey, Hannah Casey, Elisabeth Casey, Brandon Casey, Chloe Casey, Julie Whitis and Pamela Ollis; four great grandchildren: Anna Casey, Drake Casey, Chentae Shelton and Caroline Dalton; one brother, David Honeycutt and wife, Louise, Lenoir, North Carolina; two sisters: Emma Jane Gosnell and husband, Pem, Greeneville and Myra Harmon and husband Robert, Unicoi. Special friend, Katherine Lewis, Unicoi.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service for Mrs. Casey will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Randall Honeycutt will officiate. Special music will be provided by Sounds of Victory. Active pallbearers will be Bubba Cole, Johnny Russell, Jose Salas, Hannah Casey, Kim Casey and Brad Casey. Honorary pallbearers will be the MSHA Hospice staff and members of the Jubilee Rock Church.
Interment will follow the funeral service in Forest Hills Memory Gardens, Abingdon, Virginia.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 at the funeral home and other times at the family home.
