John "Wayne" Guinn, ELIZABETHTON

ELIZABETHTON — John “Wayne” Guinn, 69, of Elizabethton, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2013, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
Mr. Guinn was born in Carter County to the late Earl and Blanche Adkins Guinn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Freddie, Jack, and Jimmy Dale Guinn.
Mr. Guinn was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam War. He was a heavy equipment operator and retired from E. Luke Greene Construction Company after 30 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Guinn of the home; daughter, Crystal Carver and husband Randy of Elizabethton; son, Ricky Lyons and wife Peggy of Roan Mountain; grandchildren, Cody Lyons, Candice Lyons, Matthew Waldrop, and Ethen Carver; great granddaughter, Khloe Caderon; sisters, Bernice Rolland and Teresa Perry both of Telford; brothers, Richard Guinn of Johnson City and Howard Guinn of Hampton; and special friends, Lonnie Turner and the employees of E. Luke Greene. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The graveside service for Mr. Guinn will be conducted at 11:45 AM Monday, December 2, 2013 in Mountain Home National Cemetery with Ricky Lyons officiating. Pallbearers will be selected form family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at 11:40 AM at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
