Richard Charles Peeks, JONESBOROUGH

Richard Charles Peeks, 43, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013, in the NHC Health Care, Johnson City, following an extended illness.
A native of Bluff City, he was a son of the late Raymond Charles and Ruth Nye Peeks. He was a graduate of Sullivan East High School. He was formerly employed as a Stock Person at Food City. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister: Rita Odell.
Survivors include Two Sisters: Rhonda Gentry and her husband, Albert, Jonesborough, and Catherine Peeks, Johnson City; One Brother: Nathaniel Peeks, Jonesborough; A special Brother-in-law: Danny Odell, Bluff City.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2013, in the Emmert Cemetery, Elizabethton, with Pastor Bill Burrows officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Richard to the Huntington Disease Society at hdsa.org.
The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to his brother-in-law: Danny Odell and Pastor Bill Burrows, and the past and present workers at NHC and Caris Hospice for the excellent care that Richard received during his five-year stay at NHC.
