Betty Richardson, ELIZABETHTON

Betty Joyce Richardson, 78, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013, at her home with all her family at her bedside.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Ruben & Kathleen J. Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Woodrow W. Richardson.
Betty was a graduate of Unaka High School. She was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church but attended Moores Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sister: Robin Presnell; Seven Children: Lynne Mattox, Barry Richardson, Rickey Richardson, Randy Richardson, Jeffrey Richardson, Wendy Hambrick and Penny Eggers. In addition to her children, Betty loved her 14 grandkids: Tracey Ferguson, Josh Mattox, Erica Winters, Allison Fisher, Dylan Richardson, Noah Richardson, Ryan Richardson, Nichole Miller, Adam Richardson, Morgan Richardson, Chloe Hambrick, Lexi Eggers, Bailee Eggers, and Ally Eggers; and Six Great Grandchildren: Andrew Ferguson, Abigail Ferguson, Elliot Mattox, Olivia Bostic, Colton Winters and Lucy Fisher.
The family would like to give a very special thanks to CARIS Healthcare for their wonderful care that was given to our mother. Betty wanted to give a special thanks to Amanda, Rhonda and Misty.
Betty’s final wish was for the family to not have a memorial service and memorials be made in her memory of her to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tenn. 3801-9908.
