Benjamin W. Murray, JOHNSON CITY

Benjamin Walter Taylor Murray, 24, 1313 E. Watauga Avenue, entered into rest early Saturday morning, November 16, 2013, following a brief illness.
Ben was a graduate of Science Hill High School, where he excelled and lettered in Varsity football and wrestling. He was a student at Northeast State Community College, studying History. Ben was an avid reader, played cello, and enjoyed cooking.
“Big Ben” possessed a gentle spirit, warm personality, and easily made friends with those who came into contact with him. He will be remembered for his easy-going, comical nature and infectious smile.
Ben was preceded in death by his father, James C. Murray, Jr., Paternal grandparents James C. Murray, Sr., G. Elnora Brady, Rev. G. Walter Brady; Maternal grandparents Glen and Peggy Greer.
Ben leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Glenda Greer Murray; brothers Phillip Lee Taylor and James Robert Murray (Jen); sisters Charmaine Daniels, Brianne Murray, and Jasmine Murray Potter, all of Johnson City; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 21st at Bethel Christian Church, 701 Depot St., Jonesborough, TN. Rev. Vincent Dial, Pastor. The family will receive friends prior to the services from 5:30pm-7:00pm at the church.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday November 22nd at Monte Vista Memorial Park, 1900 Oakland Avenue Johnson City, TN. The family will also receive friends until the day of the services at 1313 E. Watauga Ave in Johnson City.
