Paul H. White, GRAY

Paul H. White, age 70, of Gray, passed away Monday morning at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
He was a son of the late Henry F. and Phyllis Fletcher White. Mr. White was a Vietnam Veteran who served overseas with the 937th engineering group; he received the Vietnam Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and was an Expert Rifleman trained on the M14 and was a lifetime member of VFW Post #4933.
Mr. White was an employee of Eastman Chemical Company (tenite division) and retired after 31 years of employment.
Mr. White loved to garden and spend time outdoors taking care of his home, spending time with his grandson, “his little buddy,” and babysitting his grandpuppy, Chico.
He was of the Baptist Faith.
Mr. White is survived by his wife, Mary White; two sons, Paul White II and girlfriend, Robin, and Ron and Tina White, all of Harmony Community; one grandson, Dayton White; one granddaughter, Courtney Humbert; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chet and Debbie White, of Elizabethton, Ken White, of Rogersville, Tom and Laura White, of Bluff City, Gary and Donna White, of Bluff City, Robert and Cheryl White, of Bluff City, and Doug White, of Elizabethton; one sister, Patricia White, of Johnson City. Mr. White is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins; one very special uncle, Clint Fletcher; special aunts, Ruth and Shelby.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 14, from 4-7 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel and funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. with Dr. Jody Jenkins officiating.
Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with Military Honors by VFW Post #4933. Pallbearers will be Paul White, Ron White, Bret Cravens, Teddy Ford, Greg Rush and John Light. Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Fletcher and Mr. White’s brothers.
A special thanks would like to be given to Dr. Ronald Hunter and staff for their special care over the years and the Surgical Intensive Care Unit staff at Vanderbilt University Medical Center; a very special thanks to Jackie, Maggie, Preston and the rest of the nurses.
