Wilma B. Taylor, 90, of Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013, at the Hillview Health Center. She was born in Standard, Louisiana, the daughter of the late John and Arizona McBroom Boyd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Robert John Womack, Jr.; one sister, Ruth; and four brothers, Joe, Robert, Beverly and Roland.
Wilma had made Elizabethton her home since 1954. A loving wife and mother, she was known for her quilts and cooking, especially her desserts. She also loved to sew, crochet and raise flowers. She is survived by her husband, Jacob T. Taylor; her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Ron VanderMolen of Leslie, Michigan; one son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Donna Womack; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Womack; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, all of Louisiana. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the nurses and staff at the Hillview Health Center, Dr. Walters, and the second floor nursing staff at Sycamore Shoals Hospital for their care and support this past month.
It was her wish to be cremated and no services are planned.
