Billy John Kalogeros, MOUNTAIN CITY

Mr. Billy John Kalogeros, age 85, of Mountain City, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 30, 2013.
Mr. Kalogeros was a native of Johnson City, Tennessee, and had lived most of his life in Denver, Colorado, and then in the San Francisco Bay Area. Billy moved back to the Tri-City area in July of 2000. He was the son of the late John Kalogeros and Minnie Music Kalogeros. In addition to his parents, his wife, Mary Kalogeros; brothers, Gus, George, Sam; sisters, Helen and Alexandra; also preceded him in death.
Billy retired from Hyatt Corporation after twenty-five years of service in Palo Alto, California, before moving back to the Tri-City area and retired again from the State of Tennessee Dept. of Correction.
Dad loved big band and Dixieland music, as well as old westerns. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the Army Air Corps in Panama.
He is survived by his son, Bill Kalogeros and his wife, Jade Bradbury Kalogeros; one brother, Jim Kalogeros and his wife, Alexandria, and their children Gary, John, Maria; and many other nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life remembrance for Mr. Billy Kalogeros will be conducted at 6 PM Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at the Peerless Steakhouse, 2531 North Roan Street, Johnson City, TN.
