BLUFF CITY — John Howard Leonard, age 74, of Bluff City, TN, went home peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2013.
He was born March 19, 1939, a son of the late Willie and Lola Strouth Leonard and he lived in the Bluff City area all of his life. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired service station mechanic.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Willie Leonard Jr., Earnest Leonard; sister, Ella Mae Vestal.
He is survived by: His loving wife of 56 years: Wilma Arlene Leonard; Sons: Howard Leonard and wife, Linda, Jeff Leonard and special friend, Lisa Barger, Gary Leonard and special friend, Becky Waldrop; Daughters: Diane Sons and husband, Bill, Deloris Garland and husband, Willie, Denise Pope and husband, Terry; 12 Grandchildren; 24 Great Grandchildren; Sisters: Betty Puryea, Myrtle Lytwynec; Brothers: Dave Leonard, Harold Leonard.
A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2013, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steven Nauman Sr. officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service.
The Committal Service and burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, in the Sunrise Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
