William Robert "Bob" Edwards, JOHNSON CITY

William Robert (Bob) Edwards, 90, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013, at the V.A. Medical Center, Mountain Home.
A native of Washington County, he was the son of the late Harmon and Maggie Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a Veteran of the United States Army and worked as a mechanic for Burlington Industries.
He was a member of Walnut Christian Church; he loved church and Men’s Fellowship. He also enjoyed woodworking and belonged to the Rod & Gun Club.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Elizabeth Edwards; and a sister, Anna Ruth Whitson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Alice Hale and husband, Allen, of Jonesborough; three sons, William Robert (Bob) Edwards Jr., of Knoxville, Larry Edwards and wife, Theresa, of Abingdon, VA, and James (Jim) Edwards, of Jonesborough; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; special “daughter,” Penny Edwards; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013, at 7:00 PM at Tetrick Funeral & Cremation Services, Johnson City. Mr. Tim Carlson, Minister, will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, November 4, 2013, at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Johnson City. Those wishing to follow in procession are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM. Pallbearers will be Cory Hale, Jeremy Hale, Todd Edwards, Bo Edwards, Jack Whitson and Jerre Whitson. Honorary pallbearers will be anyone whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in memory of Mr. Edwards to Walnut Christian Church, 2318 S. Greenwood Drive, Johnson City, TN 37604.
