Hansel James "Jim" Jones, ERWIN

ERWIN — Hansel James “Jim” Jones, age 73, 140 Parsley Street, Erwin, passed away at 9:51 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born August 16, 1940 in Erwin, Tennessee, a son of the late Rufus Brownlow and Renia Williams Jones. Mr. Jones was a retired truck driver.
Other than parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Harrison Jones, Lee Jones and Bud Jones; four sisters: Elva Edwards, Dollie Foster, Laura Sabodian and Nilia Jones.
Mr. Jones is survived by two sons: Jamie Jones, Nebraska and Jim Jones, New York; one daughter, Renia VerValen, Washington State; two grandchildren: Jeff Gilbert and Marshall Jones; one brother, Estil W. Jones, Oregon; three sisters: Gertha Todd, California, Jennell Common, Montana, Doris Caldwell, of the home; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins including a special nephew, Robert Keith Richardson, of the home.
Memorial service for Mr. Jones will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Kevin Laws will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Tumbling Hill Cemetery.
