Rick Westmoreland, MOUNTAIN CITY

Rick Westmoreland, age 80, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013.
He was born on December 4, 1932, to the late Ray A. and Thelma D. Pitts Westmoreland.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Snyder Westmoreland; and brothers: Ray ‘Babe’ Westmoreland and Calvin Taylor ‘Kip’ Westmoreland.
Rick retired from Lucent Technology with 34 years of service. He enjoyed watching a variety of sports and loved to collect coins and watches.
Rick was a United States Air Force Veteran.
Rick is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, James and Elizabeth Westmoreland; several special nieces and nephews; and many, many special friends and neighbors.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Mountain City Funeral Home.
Graveside Service & Interment with Military Honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard will immediately follow at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jim Norman to officiate. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are all of Rick’s “Trading Buddies” and all of his wonderful neighbors and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials in Rick’s memory be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3385 Roan Creek Road, Mountain City, TN 37683; or to the charity of your choice.
