Carol Ann Hodge, ELIZABETHTON

Carol Ann Hodge, age 73, of Elizabethton, TN, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late John D. Wilcox and Eula Edens Wilcox. She retired from Siemens in Johnson City.
Ann was a devout Christian and was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church, where she was a very active member and enjoyed her Sunday School and church fellowship. She spread love to so many people and has had a huge impact on the lives of others. Her loving family and friendships were the center of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hodge; and a brother, Harry “Bud” Wilcox.
Survivors include her beloved life partner of forty-seven years, Bill Smithey, of the home; two daughters, Kathy Zannis and husband, Pete, Hilton Head, SC, and Vicki Wilson and husband, Myron, Bristol, TN; two grandsons, Tyler Wilson and Nicholas Wilson; a brother, Jimmy Wilcox, Elizabethton, TN; a nephew, Jonathan Wilcox, Elizabethton; and nieces, Crystal Wilcox, Bristol, TN, Diana Newberry, Mebane, NC, and Debbie Wilcox, Bradenton, FL. Her special dog, “Baby” also survives.
A Celebration of Life Service for Carol Ann Hodge will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Friday, October 11, 2013, in the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30-3:00 P.M. on Friday prior to the service.
The family would like to express a special loving thanks to Ann’s church family and her very special group, the “Lizards.”
