Ida Mae Freeman, GRAY

Ida Mae Freeman, 92, of Gray, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Indian Path Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Harvey Freeman; parents, Thomas S. Whitt and Louisa Catherine Childress Whitt Addair; daughter, Juanita Jean Basham; sisters, Mary Etta Owens, Ruth Moore, Carrie Hill, Bertha Dameron, Margaret “Mag” Freeman, Sarah Presnell; brothers, Preston Whitt, Leck Whitt, Perry Whitt; and half brothers, Clarence Whitt, Elias Whitt and Bob Whitt.
Mrs. Freeman was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed taking care of her family. She also loved cooking, sewing and mending clothes, and gardening.
She was a long-time member of Hope Regular Primitive Baptist Church in Gray, Tennessee, and believed in salvation by grace.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna Freeman, Beatrice Bledsoe and husband, Gregory, and Linda Brooks; son, Granville Lee Freeman and wife, Connie; sister, Alta Rose Hinkle; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters in the church; and many friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 10, 2013, from 5:30 to 7:15 PM at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home, Bristol, Tennessee.
The funeral service will follow at 7:30 PM with Elder Ronnie Crawford, Elder Chad Crawford and Elder Aaron Williams officiating.
The committal and interment will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013, at 12:00 PM at Greenhills Memory Gardens, Cedar Bluff, Virginia. All attending will meet at the cemetery at 11:45 AM.
