Sylvia C. Taluskie, ELIZABETHTON

Sylvia C. Taluskie, 70, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at her home surrounded by loving family, following an extended illness. Mrs. Taluskie was born in Tresckow, Pennsylvania, but had lived in Elizabethton since 1993. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Melnick Fazio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Thomas Taluskie, Sr., on December 19, 2009, and two sisters.
Mrs. Taluskie retired from CVS after twelve years of sharing her lighthearted personality with those who visited her store. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and loved spending time with her grandchildren and children as well as taking care of all manner of deer, birds and other creatures of the forest. She had a generous, selfless and kind nature and will be dearly missed by those she shared her life with.
Survivors include a daughter, April Taluskie, Elizabethton, TN; two sons, Vincent Taluskie, Jr., Denver, Colorado and Christopher Taluskie and wife Stephanie, Jonesborough, TN; one granddaughter, Krislyn Burleson, Elizabethton, TN; one grandson, Brandon Taluskie, Elizabethton, TN; one sister, Margaret Angelozzi, Hazelton, PA; and one brother, Anthony Fazio, Hazelton, PA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral mass for Mrs. Taluskie will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Elizabethton with Father Dennis Kress, officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the Fireside Room of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with a prayer service to follow. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ricardo Martin and wife Norma and Manuel Bandarra.
