Wiber Ralph Smith, ELIZABETHTON

Wilber Ralph Smith, 94, of Elizabethton, passed away on Monday, October 07, 2013 at his residence.
He was a son of the late Joseph Wade and Mila Humphreys Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Messer Smith; four brothers, Cecil Smith, Oswald Smith, Howard Smith, William Smith and one sister, Grace Litton.
Mr. Smith was a United States Army veteran, having served in World War II. He retired from JA Jones Company and was of the Methodist faith. He loved playing with his grandchildren, helping neighbors with projects, spending time in his garage, and gardening.
Mr. Smith is survived by four children, Rhonda Frick, Bloomington, IN; Devonna Coleman and husband, Frankie, of the home; Wilber Smith, Jr., Winona, TX; Jon David Smith, Rockport, IN; five grandchildren, Brian Gallaher and partner, Vince Pierce; Kathleen Gallaher Seitz and husband, Kevin; Erin Frick Fidler and husband, Steve; Michael Frick and wife, Rachelle; Blake Smith; three great-grandchildren, Caleb Seitz, Riley Fidler and Aiden Fidler; a special friend, Dean Frick.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. The funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 PM on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Ronan Dillard officiating.
The graveside service and interment will follow the funeral service on Friday in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be Brian Gallaher, Michael Frick, Dean Frick, Frankie Coleman, Kevin Seitz and Steve Fidler.
