Charles Rhyans, KENTON, Ohio

KENTON, Ohio — Charles H. “Bo” Rhyans, age 71 of Kenton, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 8:14 a.m. at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born on November 22, 1941, in Johnson City, TN, to the late Pless H. and Sally Belle Brown Rhyans.
Charles is survived by his long time special companion, Phyllis Worthington; his sons: Hiawatha (Bobbie) Rhyans of Seattle, WA and John (Ellen) Bailey of Dola, OH; his daughters: Marie (Scott) McCullough of Murfreesboro, TN, Deborah Bailey of Lima, and Barbara Kessinger of Winchester, VA; his brother, Richard (Lulu) Rhyans of Denver, CO; his sisters: Amelia (Elmer) Earnest of San Diego, CA, Opal Webb of Cleveland, OH and Rosa Malone of Johnson City, TN; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Victoria McVicker; his brothers: Hiawatha, Paul, Gene and Phil Rhyans; his sister, Lillian Winona Greene.
Charles had worked for Broderick as well as Scioto Industries. He was a member of the Amvets Post 1994, and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and the cornhole champion of Hardin County.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home, Kenton. Visitation will be held 2 hours (11:00 a.m. — 1:00 p.m.) prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude.
