Raymond Rosenbaum, ELIZABETHTON

Mr. Raymond Rosenbaum, 70, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, October 6, 2013 from Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was the son of the late Martin and Flora May Bowers Rosenbaum and was born in Carter County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Russell, a sister-in-law, Shirley Robinson and a brother-in-law, Charlie Bryan.
Mr. Rosenbaum was an auto mechanic and a member of Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church. He watched wrestling, loved animals and in his spare time he worked on lawn mowers.
He is survived by his wife of twenty four years, Janet Robinson Rosenbaum, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Heath Parlier and his wife, Christy, Unicoi, two sisters, Cora Greenwell and her husband, Jim; Betty Crum and her husband, Ray; a brother, Charles Bowers, Jr.; a brother-in-law, J. C. Robinson all of Elizabethton; a sister-in-law, Beatrice Bryan, Baltimore, MD; his step-father, Charles Bowers, Sr., of Elizabethton; his special nieces, Ginger Robinson, Sherry Fink and her husband, Mike; Tina Krammer, and her husband, Mike and Kylie Ober; and his best little friends, his pets, Jasper and Tinker, whom he loved dearly. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
The Celebration of Life service for Mr. Rosenbaum will be conducted on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Bill Greer officiating. Music will be under the direction of The Hammonds. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday prior to the service.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Wilson Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Cecil Nelson, James Arnold, Bobby Rambo, Jimmy Greenwell, Andrew Miller, Ron Reed, Eric Hyder and Edward Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Lowe, Tony Bowers, Glen Hyder, Junior Johnson, Larry Nelson, Howard Otey, Robert Quinn, Randy Taylor, Roy Whitaker, Roger Lewis, Rev. Bill Greer, Alfred Jones, his friend, Jim, the Staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home Skilled Nursing Unit, the 7th Floor Staff of the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital, the members of the Carter County Rescue Squad, and all of his church family at Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
