OCALA, Fla. — Robert Harrell, age 77; his earthly journey ended September 28, 2013, and his Heavenly eternity began, where his wife of 59 years, Nancy Harrell, who preceded Bob in death by six days, was joyfully and lovingly waiting.
Bob was an aircraft mechanic by trade and a missionary of the Lord for life. Bob and Nancy were in Honduras, where Bob serviced aircraft for Mission Aviation Fellowship’s operation covering most of Central America for eight years. Along with maintaining planes, he also witnessed to many souls in his travels around the world.
In 1969, Bob & Nancy were led to join Moody Aviation in Elizabethton, where he passed along his knowledge to the students at Moody for 12 years. He was blessed to pastor several churches in East Tennessee. Bob was interim Pastor for Southwestern Baptist and Clark Street Baptist in Johnson City along with Clear Branch Baptist in Flag Pond, TN. Bob and Nancy left Moody for California in 1982 where they continued to travel and minister, then moved to Florida to relax and enjoy the last 15 years of their lives.
Survivors include: Sons, Ken (wife Anne) Harrell. Chicago, IL and Keith Harrell (Cindy), Johnson City, TN and daughter Bonnie (husband John) Smith, Watauga, TN; grandchildren Courtney (husband Brian) Rowe, Ryan (wife Libertie) Harrell; Kevin Harrell; Kelly Harrell; Andrew (wife April) Smith; Matthew (wife Katherine) Smith & Casey Smith. Great-grandchildren, Keegan & Griffin Rowe, Berea, Harvest & Availea Harrell, Zach Johnson; Emery and Breanna Smith.
