Mattie Lou Broyles Snapp, age 85, of Cedar Grove Community, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a lifelong member of Cedar Grove U.M. Church.
She worked at George C. Moore and retired from Greene Valley Developmental Center.
She was much loved by her children and grandchildren. She was always ready to lend a helping hand if needed and was an inspiration to all those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by: Husband: William “Bill” Snapp; Parents: Marion E. and Lucy Broyles.
Survivors include: 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Elizabeth and Jake Gross, Nancy and Bob Helbert, of Cedar Grove Community; 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law: Charles and Debbi Snapp, of Greeneville, Quintin Snapp, of Cedar Grove Community, and special friend, Leisa Riddle; 5 grandchildren: Nanette and Butch Shaw; Deadra and Randy Salts, Angela and John McInturff, Jeremy and Wyndi Snapp, Lisa Moore and fiancé, Ricky Crain; Great grandchildren, Betsy Shaw, Will Shaw, Katie Salts, Ben McInturff, Madi McInturff, Marissa Snapp, Macey Snapp, Dustin Moore and Dalton Moore; 1 Great Great Granddaughter: Amanda Moore; Step Grandchildren: Daniel and Lisa Gross, Lance Fezell, Lindsey Rollins, Rebecca Bell; 3 Sisters-in-law Emma Renner, Fannie Bennett and Bernice Snapp.
Pallbearers will be: Bob Smith, Lanny Love, Tim Armstrong, Keith Roberts, Joe Bitner, Ronnie Love. Honorary pallbearers will be: friends and members of Cedar Grove U.M. Church.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Grove U.M.C.
Interment will follow at Cedar Grove U.M. Cemetery. The Rev. Walter Isley, and Rev. Joe Miller will officiate.
Family will receive friends Sat., October 5, 2013, from 1-3 and 5-7 at Jeffers Funeral Chapel in Afton. Body will be taken to the church 30 minutes before the service on Sunday.
