Delores Hughes Craig, RIPLEY

Delores Hughes Craig, 79, of Ripley, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at her residence.
Mrs. Craig was born on October 5, 1933, in Elizabethton, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Charles Raymond and Thelma Stepp Hughes. She was a 1952 graduate of Elizabethton High School and attended ETSU before graduating from the Baptist School of Nursing in Memphis.
She was a nurse at Lauderdale County Hospital and Johnson City Medical Center when she moved back to Johnson City in the late 1970s. While living over 30 years in Johnson City, she attended St. John’s Episcopal Church.
She moved back to Ripley in 2010 where she attended both Immanuel Episcopal Church and Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Jenny Lou Hughes Hopson.
Mrs. Craig is survived by her husband, Billy Joe Craig Sr.; and four sons, Tommy Starnes, Lee Starnes, both of Ripley, Bradley Craig, of Johnson City, and Billy Craig Jr., of Hutchinson, KS; a sister, JoAnn Campbell, of Elizabethton; and a brother, Ted Hughes, of Johnson City; and 5 grandchildren.
Visitation was Friday, September 20th, at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley.
Funeral services were Saturday at Garner Funeral Home Chapel with Burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
