Wayne Minor, GRAY

Wayne Minor, 70, 112 Will Lane Rd., Gray, died Thursday, September 26, 2013, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Wayne was a Hawkins County native and had been a resident of Gray since 1975.
He was a son of the late A.C. and Athalea Mauk Minor.
Wayne was a Vietnam War Army veteran.
He formerly attended E.T.S.U.
Wayne retired from Appalachian Claims, where he worked as an insurance adjuster.
He was of the Presbyterian faith.
Wayne loved the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Morelock Minor, in 1995; and a sister, Charlotte Minor.
Wayne is survived by three children, Joel Brasfield and wife, Kim, Brentwood, Robin Bragg and husband, Timothy, Gray, Lisa Bear, Kingsport; one brother, Gary Minor and wife, Donna, Church Hill; two sisters, Brenda Gray, Rogersville, and Anita Horne and husband, Gordon, Surgoinsville; four grandchildren, Matthew and Alexandria Bear, Sadler and Greyson Brasfield; one great-grandchild, Macy Bear; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Keith Cook, Ashley Seale, NP, Mountain States Hospice, Jessica Bacon, Nichole Conley, Sheena Leilich, Natasha Davenport, Jessica Booher, Kathy Adams, and a very special thank you to Betty Correll.
The graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, September 29, 2013, at 3:00 P.M. in the Washington County Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Military honors will be accorded by the Boone Dam V.F.W. Post 4933 and members of the Tennessee Army National Guard. Entombment will follow.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:30 P.M. in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home.
In-lieu-of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Wayne’s name to your local Shriners.
