Mrs. Amy Jones McClaine was called to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Christian Care Center in Johnson City, TN.
She was born in Peach County, Georgia, on July 1, 1927, to the late Homer and Mattie Jones. She attended Campbell High School.
Mrs. McClaine was a life-long resident of Daytona Beach, FL, where she was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
She worked for Kane’s Furniture, Ormond Beach, and Dr. Carl Schwrenker OB/GYN and family as a housekeeper. Mrs. McClaine retired as a cook for Volusia County School System and enjoyed cooking for various churches and organizations. She attended Adult Care Services Center and was featured on the billboard for United Way in Johnson City, TN.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Willie, J.B. and Peter Jones; sister: Carrie Mae Teddleton; and her son: Wallace Tomlin Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories her sister, Mrs. Virginia Bostic and her daughter, Christine Singleton, of Daytona Beach, FL; daughters, Ernestine Hogg, Conyers, GA, Lorraine Washington (Elmer), Johnson City, TN, and Synthia Dixon, Bradenton, FL; sons, Ronald Jones, Johnson City, TN, and Charles McClaine, Daytona Beach, FL; 17 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 22nd, at Bethel Christian Church, 701 Depot St., Jonesborough, Tennessee.
