Fred Allen Potter, 64, Roan Mountain, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 13, 2013 in the Herrin Hospital, Herrin, Illinois.
He was a Carter County native. Fred was Project Manager with Coal Field Construction Company in Illinois. He formerly had worked at Powell Construction Company for 36 years. He attended the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his father, Crawford M. Potter, June 13, 2010.
Survivors include his wife: Paula Harrison Potter. Two Sons: Scott Potter and wife Nyoka, Roan Mountain and Anthony Potter, Jacksonville, Florida. His Mother: Gladys Elliott Potter, Roan Mountain. A Sister: Lula Bell Bennett, Roan Mountain. A Brother: Albert Eugene “Pete” Potter and wife Norma, Terra Alta, West Virginia. A special brother-in-law: Michael Harrison and wife Annette, Roan Mountain. Several Nieces & Nephews.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in the Elliott Family Cemetery, Roan Mountain with the Rev. Jim Storie and Mr. Roby Ellis, Minister officiating. Burial will follow the service. Music will be provided by the family. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday will be: Jack Blackwell, Bob Blackwell, David Blackwell, Ron Davis, Keith Blackwell, and Michael Harrison.
