Christopher "Dale" Hughes, JOHNSON CITY

Christopher Dale Hughes, 39, Johnson City, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 in the Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a Avery County, North Carolina native but lived his life in Carter County. He was a 1992 graduate of Elizabethton High School. Chris was a Welder. He attended Milligan Free Will Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his father Roger Dale Hughes.
Survivors include his Children: Chelsy Hughes, Brenna Khristian Hughes and Ethan Christopher Roger Hughes. A Grandson: Lucus. His Mother: Tonia Odom Hughes of the home. A Brother: Shaun Patrick Hughes, Elizabethton. Five Special Aunts: Debra Whitehead, Sheila Nance, Sandy Gruhot, Peggy Nance and Kim Odom. Two Nieces: Ashlyn Hughes and Khloe Crowder Hughes. Two Nephews: Hunter Crowder and Andon Hughes.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark Street officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in the Cranberry Cemetery, Elk Park, North Carolina. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday will be: Jeremiah Guinn, Charles Miller, Scottie Holtsclaw, Peanut Whitehead, Joe Whitehead and Mack Burchfield. Honorary pallbearers will be: Scott Storie, Bobby Sullivan, Rob Whitehead and all his great nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
