Weldon “Dude” Ford, age 74 of Gray, passed away at home Wednesday morning, September 11, 2013, with his family by his side.
He was a son of the late Etta Ford and Richard Beryl Ford.
“Dude” was an operator with BAE, formerly Holston Army Ammunition Plant, for many years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Sue Cox, of Gray; one brother, J.D. Ford, of Gray.
He was of the Baptist Faith and was a born again Christian.
Survivors include his wife, Gwen Ford, of the home; one son, Mark Ford, of Gray; two stepsons, Kenny (Nancy) Cole, of Jonesborough, and Scott Cole, of Jonesborough; two sisters, Wanda (Gerald) Trent, of Gray, and Lucille Smith, of Gray; five grandchildren, Kenny Cole, Kelly Cole, Danielle LaFollette, Kevin Cole and Scott Cole; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening, September 14, from 5-8 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel.
A memorial service will follow at 8 p.m.
