Betty Jane McIntosh Cox, ERWIN

Betty Jane McIntosh Cox, 81, passed away in her home September 10, 2013.
She was the first baby born in the Unicoi County Community Hospital, on August 21, 1932. Betty was the daughter of the late Ferman and Orpha Calloway McIntosh.
Betty was a native of Erwin and lived there her entire life. She was a graduate of Unicoi County High School and was employed for 28 years at the The Saving Center of Erwin.
Betty Jane McIntosh Cox attended Erwin Presbyterian Church. She was a Blue Ridge Pottery Collector and Historian and she enjoyed cooking, painting and crafting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Banner and Helen McIntosh; and brother, Ferman McIntosh Jr.
She is survived by husband, Bill Cox; daughter, Ruth Goodman & husband, Jim, of Knoxville; son, David Cox, of Johnson City; sisters, Anna Pratt & husband, Bob, of Erwin, TN, and Rosa Harris & husband, Theodore, of Erwin, TN; grandchildren, Deanna & husband, Matt, Bill, Regina & husband, Gary, Andrew & wife, Ashley; great-grandchildren, Blake and Rylee Cox.
A Memorial Service will be held at Erwin Presbyterian Church on September 13, 2013, at 2:00 p.m.
