Dennis Scott, PINEY FLATS

Mr. Dennis V. Scott, 70, 101 Arbor Hills Drive, Piney Flats, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013, in the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
He was a native of Johnson City and was a son of Katherine Cox Scott, of Johnson City, and the late Verlin Scott.
Mr. Scott retired from the U.S. Navy, where he served during the Vietnam era.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Greene Scott, in 2012; a brother, Jack Scott.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include two daughters, Denyele Robbins, of Colorado, and Kathy Scott, of Nashville; a son, Jeffrey Scott and his, wife, Michele, of Piney Flats; a brother, Norman Scott and his wife, Claudia, of Johnson City; three sisters, Donna Miller, of Johnson City, Peggy Harrison and husband, Porter, of Maryland, and Sandy Ellis and husband, Wayne, of Texas; a sister-in-law, Carol Scott, of Johnson City; six grandchildren, Nikki and Peri Tzantarmas, Willow, Meadow, Jeffrey and Joshua Scott; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. Scott will be conducted at 1:30 PM Friday, September 13, 2013, in the Chapel of Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with Ms. Susan Scott officiating.
Military service with full honors will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. The U.S. Navy Honor Guard will be assisted by the Boone Dam VFW Honor Guard Detail. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
