Edna Addington Heglar, KINGSPORT

Edna Addington Heglar, 94, of Kingsport, died Tuesday morning, September 3, 2013, after a brief illness.
Born in Macy Springs, VA, raised in Hiltons, VA, before moving to Kingsport, Edna was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School. She enjoyed volunteering with various charitable organizations and she especially liked delivering Meals on Wheels. She was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church and retired from the State of Tennessee.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Heglar; son, Tony C. Heglar; two sisters, Sula Britts and Hesba Barnes; and one brother, Willis Addington.
She is survived by her son, Chris Heglar and wife, Cynthia, Gray; four grandchildren, Jacob, Chad, Caitlyn, Phillip; one sister, Helen Ellis, Greeneville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 6, 2013, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport.
The graveside service will be on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Mickey Rainwater and Rev. Spurgeon McCartt officiating.
