Charles Wayne "Charlie" Stuchell, BLUFF CITY

Charles Wayne “Charlie” Stuchell, age 64, of Bluff City, TN passed away on September 1, 2013 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Charlie was born in Morgantown, WV a son to the late Don and Loretta Field Stuchell. He had lived in the Bristol area for 40 years. Mr. Stuchell was well known for broadcasting news and traffic on WXBQ Radio Station.
He was active in Ham radio from the time he was 14 years old and served as chairman for the Gray Hamfest Association along with being active in the Bristol and Carter County Amateur Radio Clubs. Charlie served his community as a member of the Bristol Rescue Squad for over 25 years. Charlie loved animals and never turned a stray dog or cat from his door. He was a member of Blountville Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Stuchell; Son – Michael McFarlane and wife Andrea; Grandchildren – Alan-Michael McFarlane, Caitlyn McFarlane (the love of his life); Sister – Ellen Britton and husband John; Nephews – Jeff Britton and wife Angela, Chris Britton and wife Heather; Two Great Nieces; Pets – Wesley, Herman, Hobbs, Jarrett, Davina, and Freddie; His extended family at Bristol Broadcasting – Ken Fleenor, Ed Mueller, and Bill Harness who transported Charlie to Charlottesville, VA for Cancer treatments.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 11 am in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dwight Shaffer officiating. Interment will follow at Eastern Heights Cemetery. Members of the Carter County and Bristol radio clubs will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-8 pm at Weaver Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the No Kill Animal Shelter at PO Box 654, Blountville, TN or to any other local pet shelter.
