BUTLER — Michael Dan Nave, 62, Butler, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Golden U. and Mary Alva Potter Nave. Mike was a 1969 graduate of Hampton High School. He was owner and operator of Elk Mills General Store. Mike was a member of Hampton Christian Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard & Val Nave.
Survivors include his wife: Mary Lou Guy Nave. Two Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Steve & Christy Nave, Hampton and Phil & Amy Nave, Elizabethton. Three Sisters: Norma Sue Nave and Joan Elliott, both of Elizabethton and Diana Cato, Florence, South Carolina. Two Brothers & Sisters-in-Law: Phillip & Judy Nave and Carl & Pat Nave, all of Elizabethton. His Brothers & Sisters-in-Law: Raymond & Christine Guy and Richard Guy all of Butler, Gladys Guy, Sugar Grove, North Carolina, Jean Guy and Roy Harmon, both of Hudson, North Carolina. His Special Sister-In-Law: Sylvia Potter, Hudson, North Carolina. His special nephew: Mitchell Nave, Butler. His Special Niece: Shelby Bunten, Sugar Grove, North Carolina. Special Nephew & Niece: Scott & Cindy Potter, Hudson, North Carolina. A special Great Niece: Cassandra Hatley. Several other nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 12 Noon Friday, August 16, 2013 in the Trivette Cemetery, Butler.
Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 11:50 a.m. Friday will be: Scott Potter, Tony Guy, Todd Guy, Hal Nave, Mitchell Nave and Jerry Bowers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Mike Potter, Stan Whaley, Boyd Trivette, Tom & Natalie Smith, Tom Morgan, Tyler Minton, John Feathers, Conley & Sue Gentry, Osler & Vivian Feathers, Mark & Karen Nave, Dyrl & Linda Greene, Ty & Zack Potter, Gary & Lisa Potter and all customers of Elk Mills General Store.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence.
Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 11:50 a.m. Friday.
