Helen Garland, JOHNSON CITY

Helen Paul Garland, 81, Johnson City, entered into rest, Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at her residence.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. Mrs. Garland was the daughter of the late C. Jonas Paul and M. Virginia Wright.
She was an honest, sincere, Godly woman, who treated others well, loved unconditionally and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves. The joy of her life was spending time with her family and entertaining small children. Her passion in life was pleasing and serving God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Andrew Garland and one sister, Evelyn Huffine.
Those left to cherish her memory include four children, Tinkie Lee Epley, Teresa K. Major, Anthony Paul Garland and wife Chastity, and Tina L. Morris and husband Steve, all of Johnson City; grandchildren, James T. Reece, Jr., and wife Catina, Jesse Lee Reece and wife Stacy, Grace Elizabeth Major, Tanner Paul Garland, Courtney L. Garland, Jeffrey Ryan Allen, Trenton Adkins, Maddie G. Walters and Carly F. Walters; 6 great grandchildren; close family friends George Gary and Betty Hodges. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Johnson City Medical Center Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Anthony Garland to help offset funeral expenses.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM Friday, August 16, 2013 until a Celebration of Life Service at 5:00 PM at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City. Reverend Harold McNabb will officiate. Family will serve as pallbearers.
