Mr. Ted Rodefer, age 77, Johnson City, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He will be truly missed.
Mr. Rodefer was born June 11, 1936 in Jonesborough, TN and son of the late William & Etta Howell Rodefer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rodefer was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Alma Sue Rodefer, one brother, Rev. Luther Rodefer, three sisters, Francis Lilly, Minnie Phillips and Vada Paul.
He was a member of Bera Freewill Baptist Church.
Mr. Rodefer worked for 30 years at Interstate Foundry, until it closed, Gordon’s Furniture for 15 years and retired at age 65.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff Rodefer, of the home and Todd Rodefer and wife, Connie; two daughters, Sherry Ellis and husband, Gordon and Tammy Causey and husband, T.J.; seven grandchildren, April Martin, Melissa Lane, Brandy Litterel, Stephen Rodefer, Leah Rodiefer, Zachary Ellis and Emily Ellis; 12 great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday August 15, 2013, 7:00PM at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Stout officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00PM prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted Friday August 16, 2013, 11:00AM at Bumpass Cove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jack Phillips, Larry Lilley, Joe Rodefer, Stephen Rodefer, Zachary Ellis and Ben Martin.
