Robert "Bob" Ernest Miller II, KINGSPORT

Robert “Bob” Ernest Miller, II, age 70, of Kingsport, entered into rest on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Hydrieth Perkins Miller. Mr. Miller proudly served his country in the armed forces from 1960 thru 1970, which included three tours in Vietnam. “Bob” enjoyed Magic the Gathering and various other games; talking with people, watching football and movies, and conversing on the computer.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Peterson Garland; brothers: Laurence Miller and Larry Miller, both of Erwin; ex-wife Wanda Haney Miller, step-sons: Wright and Ricky Haney of Johnson City.
Survivors include his wife, Veda Adkins Bowerman and step-son, Aaron W. Bowerman, of the home, son, Robert “Robbie” E. Miller, III, and wife Kim, along with grandchildren, Kate and Colin of Gastonia, N.C.; sisters: Judy DeDominces of Mt. Morris, Michigan, Jean Laws, Yvonne Franklin and Phala Edwards of Erwin; step-daughters: Penny Higgins of Smyrna, Pamela Reed and Ruth Ann Canada of Johnson City; plus 9 step-grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m. with family and friends sharing memories. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park with military honors. Various family members will serve as pallbearers.
Bob will be forever missed and loved.
