Clark Douglas Ervin, age 52, 188 Taylor Bridge Road, Jonesborough, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013, at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was a son of the late Eugene and Elizabeth Bailey Ervin.
Clark was an avid sports fan, especially the Tennessee Volunteers and Tennessee Titans. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. He was a loving and devoted husband, dad and brother.
Other than parents, Clark was preceded in death by a daughter: Taylor Ervin; and a brother: Stacy Ervin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years: Rita Cable Ervin; a daughter: Rebecca Ervin and fiancé, Jarrod Slagle, Kingsport; twin brothers: Lynn Ervin, Erwin, Lee Ervin and wife, Tammy, Greeneville; two sisters: Jeanne Harrill and husband, Bill, Gastonia, North Carolina, Traci Rice and husband, Moose, Flag Pond; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Jessie and Ella Cable; a sister-in-law: Judy Cable, all of Jonesborough. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of Clark’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Mike Gray will officiate. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends prior to the service between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
The committal service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2013, in Mt. Wesley Cemetery, Telford. Those attending are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:00 noon to go in procession to the cemetery.
