France Crain, ERWIN

France British Crain, age 95, 1920 Chestoa Pike, Erwin, a former lifelong resident of Flag Pond, passed away Saturday evening, July 20, 2013, at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit.
He was born February 26, 1918 in Flag Pond, a son of the late Andy Jack and Jane Silvers Crain.
Mr. Crain was a longtime devoted member of Upper Rice Creek Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired farmer.
Other than parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Kathleen (Bessie) Crain in 2000; two brothers: Marvel Morrow and Mitch Crain; two sisters: Ora Sparks and Annis Brackens.
Mr. Crain is survived by a son: Ronnie Joe Crain and wife, Jerry, Washington County; one daughter: Judy Treadway and husband, Dennis, Erwin; four grandchildren: Lance Crain, Dawn Clark, Monica Thompson and Shawn Treadway; four great-grandchildren: Grayson Clark, Drew Thompson, Mara Thompson and Jaxson Treadway; one brother: Joe Crain and wife, Dollie, Washington County. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service for Mr. Crain will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Don Wilson will officiate. Special piano music will be provided by his daughter-in-law, Jerry Crain.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive friends prior to the service between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The committal service for Mr. Crain will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in Rice Creek Cemetery.
Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.
