Shelby McCamy, BLUFF CITY

Shelby Ann McCamy, 10, Bluff City, went to on her Voyage Home to Heaven Thursday, July 18, 2013.
She was the daughter of Mark A. McCamy and Tammy Jacobs McCamy.
Shelby was a student at Mary Hughes School in Piney Flats. This summer she was attending Girls Inc. in Johnson City, where she was happily meeting new friends and participating in their many activities.
Shelby loved swimming, other outdoor sports and fishing with her family. She was a very caring person who loved animals and giving a name to each one. During a recent fund raising project, she donated her money to the Shriners to help other children.
Shelby was very proud to have completed Confirmation classes at Piney Flats Presbyterian Church and was now a “fully baptized” member. She was active in church functions and loved singing in the children’s choir.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Heather N. McCamy; grandparents, Shirley Jacobs, Carol McCamy and Anthony McCamy; Great-grandparents, Lena Mae Plank and Joseph Huggins; Aunt and Uncle, Canda and Mike Stewart; Special great aunt and uncle, Barbara and Carroll Shell; several other great aunts, great uncles, cousins and friends.
Shelby was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert “Buck” Jacobs; Great grandparents, Naomi and Robert McCamy, Annabelle Huggins and S.E. “Pete” Plank.
Services celebrating Shelby Ann McCamy’s Voyage Home to Heaven will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor, Dr. Robert Rainwater, officiating. Jerry Persinger and Ron Bradshaw will assist. Music will be provided by Sarah Torbett Akard.
The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Graveside and committal services will follow in the Shell Cemetery, Piney Flats.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Piney Flats Presbyterian Church, 6140 Highway 11E, Piney Flats, TN 37686; or to the Jericho Shriners, P.O. Box 5548, Kingsport, TN 37663.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Blakley, Bobbie Easley, Clinton Hall, Kevin Huggins, Aaron Jacobs and Alex Stewart. Honorary pallbearer will be Jason Huggins.
