Clifford McCloud, JONESBOROUGH

Clifford McCloud, age 87, Jonesborough, went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2013.
Mr. McCloud was a native of Lebanon, VA. He had lived in Tennessee since 1968.
He was a member of Victory Baptist Church, Kingsport, TN. He worked ten years at Clinchfield Coal Co. in Carbo, VA. He also worked in retail for Kings Department Store and the Dollar General Store. He retired from Holston Army Ammunition Plant in 1991.
He was a World War II Veteran, who served on Okinawa and in the occupation forces in Japan.
He was the son of the late Otis and Elizabeth Puckett McCloud. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mable McCloud and Nell Tichenor Hatmaker; two brothers, Marshall Burns McCloud and Howard Pat McCloud; and a granddaughter, Erin McCloud Privette.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Alice McCloud; one son, Michael McCloud and wife, Beverly, of Jonesborough, TN; two granddaughters, Megan McCloud Powers and husband, Kelly, and Caitlin McCloud; three great-granddaughters, Haley, Hannah and Abby Privette; one great grandson, Elijah McCloud; several nieces and nephews; and one grandson-in-law, Geoff Privette.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 20, 2013, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 7:00 p.m. in Tri-Cities Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ed Gibson officiating.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, July 21, 2013, with military rites conducted by American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265.
