Ruby Ledford, JOHNSON CITY

Ruby Ledford, 64, Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends at her home.
A native of Jonesborough, Mrs. Ledford was born on January 22, 1949, to the late Floyd David and Clara Mae Presley Rosenbaum.
Mrs. Ledford attended University Parkway Baptist Church and was very active. She helped prepare the monthly senior meal and the weekly church family meals. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, making church banners for the sanctuary and costumes for plays.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Lee Ledford; two brothers, Paul “Bud” Rosenbaum and Floyd David Rosenbaum; two sisters, Nellie West and Ruth Carr.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Ronald Reece Ledford and wife, Holly, of Johnson City; a daughter, Marvella Fields and husband, Timothy, of Johnson City; grandchildren, Joshua Alan Fields, Derek Logan Fields, Robert Dillion Fields and wife, Amber, Latyn Presley Fields, Carrie Ann Ledford and Tyler Wayne Wills, all of Johnson City; sisters, Melissa “Jane” Pierce, of Telford, Mabel Walker, of Johnson City, April “Midge” Miller, of Johnson City, and Betty McGowen, of Riverside, CA; brothers, Marvin Rosenbaum, of Johnson City, Bob D. Rosenbaum, of Johnson City, and Timothy Rosenbaum, of Telford.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Tetrick Funeral & Cremation Services, Johnson City, on Sunday, July 21, 2013, at 1:30 PM.
The family will receive friends on Saturday in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral & Cremation Services, Johnson City, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Dr. Mike Oaks, Reverend Scott Thompson and Reverend Rusty Wishon will officiate.
A Committal Service will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Monte Vista Memorial Park, Johnson City, immediately following the service. Pallbearers will be grandsons Joshua Fields, Derek Fields, Robert Fields, Latyn Fields, Tyler Wills and son, Ronald Ledford. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marvin Rosenbaum, Timmy Rosenbaum and Timothy Fields.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Second Harvest Food Bank, ? University Parkway Baptist Church, 127 Dillon Ct., Gray, TN 37615; or to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 404 BNA Drive, Suite 102, Nashville, TN 37217.
