Dale Vance, ERWIN

Robert Dale Vance, age 64, 140 Long Branch Drive, Erwin, was surrounded by his loving family when he went home to be with the Lord at 12:32 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013.
He was a lifelong resident of the area, a son of the late Howard and Mildred Hammitt Vance. Dale was a loving and devoted husband, dad and brother.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Gouge.
Dale is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Peggy Haun Vance; two daughters: Melissa Vance and fiancé, Derek Collins, Unicoi, Becky Vance, Erwin; one granddaughter and the light of his life, Autumn Rayne Collins, Unicoi; four brothers: Paul Vance and wife, Mary, Hampton, Harley Vance and wife, Marie, Marietta, South Carolina, Johnny Vance, Unicoi, Sam Vance and wife, Mary Lou, Erwin; seven sisters: Ruth Hannah and husband, Joe, Newport, Tennessee, Shirley Stevens and husband, Bruce, Hampton, Sue Hannah and husband, Daniel, Bonnie Schvidge, all of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Peggy Dickerson and husband, David, Charleston, South Carolina, Diane Evans and husband, Bill, Johnson City, and Ann Haun, Erwin; uncle and aunt: Howard and Barbara Hammitt, Johnson City. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Graveside service for Dale will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013, in Burrell Cemetery at Hampton. Reverend Ted Lewis and Reverend J.C. Sheets will officiate. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery by 3:45 p.m.
