Eva Martin, ERWIN

Eva Ellen Martin, age 91, 826 Ninth Street, Erwin, went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, July 11, 2013, at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit.
She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County, a daughter of the late Blaine and Zora Tilson Guinn. Mrs. Martin was a longtime member of Clear Branch Baptist Church and was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Martin, who was killed in 1945 during World War II; one brother, Dwight Guinn; four sisters, Dean Treadway, Dot Corn, Kathleen Hoyle and Rita Hoyle; one sister-in-law, Edna Guinn; three brothers-in-law, Hartsel Hoyle, Clarence “Lester” Shell and Grady Hoyle.
Mrs. Martin is survived by a daughter, Robbie Piercy and husband, Douglas, Erwin; one brother, James H. Guinn, Flag Pond; a sister, Elouise Shell, Erwin; a granddaughter, Teresa Honeycutt and husband, Kenneth; one great grandson, Anthony Piercy, all of Erwin; two brothers-in-law, Harry Corn and J.L. Treadway, both of Erwin. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service for Mrs. Martin will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Bill Ponder will officiate. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Inez Chandler.
Active pallbearers will be Teddy Hoyle, Keith Corn, Eddie Corn, Roger Guinn, Jerry Hoyle and Gary Guinn. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Treadway, Tim Treadway, Charlie Treadway, David Hoyle and Marvin Guinn.
The family will receive friends prior to the service between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Robbie and Douglas Piercy, 116 Bradshaw Woods Drive, Erwin.
The committal service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013, in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Clear Branch. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:15 p.m.
