Tommy Lee Carr, 72, of Jonesborough, died Monday, July 8, 2013, at the Franklin Woods Community Hospital.
He was a native of Washington County, son of the late Crockett Lester and Nancy Katherine Feathers Carr. Tommy was a self-employed plumber. He was a member of the Watauga Flats Church of God.
He enjoyed fishing a watching UT Sports and spending time with his “Little Buddy” Jacob.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: a daughter, Cindy Marie Carr; three brothers, Andrew, Charles and Billy Jack Carr; three sisters, Evelyn Adams, Elizabeth Cox and Maggie Carr.
Survivors include: his wife of 53 years, Martha K. Green Carr, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Lee and Stephania Carr, of Gray; a daughter, Penny Henry, of Jonesborough; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Judy Carr, of Johnson City; a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Lee Barnes, of Johnson City; a grandson, Jacob Lee Carr, of Gray; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Jane Metcalf, of Jonesborough.
A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, July 11, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Estel Williams.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until time of service at 7:30 p.m.
A committal service will be conducted on Friday, July 12, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Carr Cemetery with a procession leaving Morris-Baker Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
