Charles Bischdorf, 69, of St. Louis, MO, formerly Piney Flats, TN, born May 5, 1944, in St. Louis, MO, died July 5, 2013, at John Cochran VA Medical Center, St. Louis, MO.
Charles retired as a chemical worker at Monsanto.
He was a very giving man and enjoyed fishing to pass the time. He loved baseball, thoroughly enjoying the St. Louis Cardinals, and “Stan the Man” Musial was his hero.
Charles was a proud veteran of the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Vietnam Helicopter Crew Members Association and most importantly, the 174th Assault Helicopter Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Mary, nee Szerzinski, Bischdorf; and 3 sisters, Ruth Ann Bollinger, Charlotte Bachesta and Cheryl Bischdorf.
Charles is survived by 2 sisters: Margaret Shephard, of Ontario, Canada, Carla Bischdorf, of O’Fallon, IL; a brother-in-law, Edward Bachesta, of Fairview Heights, IL; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Schildknecht Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 301 S. Lincoln Ave., O’Fallon, IL.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Father James Deiters officiating.
Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors.
