Linda Townsend, BANNER ELK, N.C.

Linda Ruth Townsend, age 67, of Banner Elk, passed away on July 1, 2013, at Johnson City Medical Center.
She was born March 13, 1946, a daughter of the late John Mosley and Loy DuVault Bennett.
Linda was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and flowers.
She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was very active on various committees.
Linda was a wonderful Christian example to everyone she knew.
Along with her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her: sisters, Eileen Carver, Dora Garland, Blanche Broyles, Betty Street; brothers, Willie Bennett, Gene Bennett, John Robert Bennett.
A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Linda has left to cherish her memory her: husband, Roscoe Townsend, of the home; daughter, Amy Wellborn and husband, Benny, of Banner Elk; grandchildren, Trent and Salem Wellborn; sister, Estaleen Burkett, of Unicoi, TN; brother, Jim Bennett and wife, Judy, of Huntersville, NC; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Linda Ruth Townsend will be conducted on Saturday, July 6th, at 3:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Baughn, Rev. Don Holder and Rev. George Wright officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mount Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
