Wanda Sue Foster, age 65, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 24, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Born on July 26, 1947, she was a native of Washington County TN, and a daughter of Mary Ellen Shorter-Smith and the late Emory Smith.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Mary Evelyn and Lisa Gail Foster; sisters, Dolly Casey and Ada Yates; and a brother, Bobby Leonard Smith (rooster bird).
In addition to her mother, she is survived by: Granddaughter: Kelly Ann Higgins, Husband: Johnny Foster, Sisters: Jewel and Alfred Hensley, Bernice and Michael Rice, Judy and Harold Richardson, Ruby and Darrell Shell, Polly Butler, all of Erwin; Nancy and Junior McNabb, of Chuckey; Several Nieces and Nephews; Special Sister-in-Law, Essie Foster; Special Aunt Trula Casey.
The life of Wanda Sue Foster will be remembered and celebrated in a funeral service to be held at 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 27, 2013, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home with Preacher Michael Rice and Rev. E.L. Wheeler officiating. Musical selections will be provided by The Brown Family and by Vernon and James Story.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 PM until service time at Valley Funeral Home.
A graveside committal service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 28, 2013, at Bumpas Cove Cemetery. Those who plan to attend will meet at 10:30 AM on Friday at Valley Funeral Home to go in procession to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made at Clinchfield Federal Credit Union, where a fund has been established to help with funeral costs.
